Nikco Sports PR Job Description/Expectations

1. Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing comprehensive PR strategies that support Nikco product launches, promotions, and overall brand identity.

· Preparing 1-2 weeks prior to a product launch in each market we will be selling into by researching radio, TV, and traditional newsprint/digital papers to determine which ones we would want to partner with.

· Reaching out to those avenues to negotiate a partnership that is a win-win.

· Developing a Media Schedule/Report to keep all opportunities organized and trackable.

2. Media Relations: Building and maintaining long-term relationships with key journalists, influencers, and media outlets to secure high-level placements.

3. Content Oversight: Supervising the creation of press releases or media e-mails to ensure a consistent brand voice. Will need to be approved by VP.

4. Crisis Management: Developing and leading crisis communication plans to protect the company's reputation during sensitive situations. Hopefully these will never occur, but our PR Director would need to communicate/interface with our media partners who are involved/affected.

5. Secure Interview:

· PR Director makes initial contact with hosts and program director. Confirm the hosts/PD would allow us to do interviews.

6. We Focus on Securing Live Interviews:

· In “content/part of the show” so listeners don’t switch stations.

· We offer “compelling” and tight content so interesting to listeners and timely since based on something major in the world of sports that their listeners would be interested in.

· Generally, interviews are between 2-3 minutes (sometimes longer and more in-depth for smaller stations/night radio if hosts are looking for more content).

7. What is generally covered in an interview:

· Description of the product and “painting an image” so that the listener can imagine the football/baseball/basketball, etc...

8. Number of Promotions:

· 20-25 is the average annually (Super Bowl, CFP Championship, World Series Championship, 100th Anniversary Celebrations, NFL MVP, Cy Young Award Winner, #1 NFL Draft Pick, NFL MVP, Hall of Fame, Franchise Records, 500th Career Home Runs, Stadium Closing, Stadium Opening, League Records, etc.…).

· PR Director should also help facilitate/participate in new product ideas for promotions. We typically have an IDEAS meeting once per quarter.

9. Additional Duties:

· Media schedule that can be circulated to our team members to cover as many media hits as possible.

· Coordinate with VP on Media buys (when necessary)

· Inform VP and the team of changes as they occur.

· Communication with our management team starting with VP.

10. Additional Requirements:

· Our PR Director would need to sign a non-compete & intellectual property agreement which protects our business strategy and company. Something every new teammate signs.

11. “New & Old Media”:

· The primary focus in years past has been on radio. While that can “still work” we MUST be equally aggressive on the following mediums:

· T.V. and Zoom Interviews

· Podcasts

· Influencers with engaged and wide audiences specifically tailored to the market/fans we are pursuing (Meta (Reels), TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram.

· Pursuing Promoted Articles.

Pay: $52,426.09 - $63,136.79 per year
