Chief Growth Officer

This a Full Remote job, the offer is available from: Europe, EMEA, United Kingdom

About Swanky

Swanky is one of the UK's leading Shopify ecosystem partners, helping ambitious retailers and global brands design, build and optimise modern commerce experiences on Shopify.

Following recent investment from YFM Equity Partners, we are entering the next phase of our growth journey. As Shopify continues its move into the enterprise, we believe there is a significant opportunity to build one of Europe's leading commerce consultancies.

We have an established reputation, a talented team and an outstanding ecosystem of technology partners. Now we're looking for an exceptional Chief Growth Officer to accelerate our commercial performance and help lead the next phase of our growth journey.

This is an opportunity for a proven commercial leader to make a transformational impact, both on our business today and on what Swanky becomes over the coming years.

About the Role

As Chief Growth Officer, you will join Swanky's Executive Board and take overall responsibility for our new business strategy and performance, including sales, marketing, strategic partnerships and the development of our go-to-market organisation.

Your primary objective will be to significantly increase the value, volume and quality of new business wins, building a high-performing commercial organisation capable of delivering consistent, predictable and profitable growth.

We're looking for somebody who combines strategic vision with exceptional commercial execution. You'll know how to build and inspire winning teams, develop a sophisticated sales engine and create genuine competitive advantage.

Crucially, you'll also be a highly accomplished commercial operator in your own right. You'll be equally comfortable developing our long-term growth strategy, leading an important enterprise pitch, negotiating with a prospective client or rolling up your sleeves to help your team close a deal.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll work closely with our Chair, investors and wider leadership team to deliver our growth ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

1. New Business Growth & Commercial Performance

  • Take ownership of Swanky's new business performance, delivering ambitious targets for new client acquisition and growth opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Personally lead and close strategically important opportunities, particularly complex, high-value enterprise engagements.
  • Increase the quantity, quality and value of new client wins through improved prospecting, qualification, proposition development and conversion.
  • Build a consistent and predictable pipeline, supported by effective forecasting, commercial reporting and performance management.
  • Ensure new business growth delivers strong commercial outcomes, with appropriate attention to pricing, profitability, client quality and long-term value.

2. Building a High-Performance GTM Organisation

  • Develop and execute a market-leading go-to-market strategy, covering sales, marketing, partnerships and revenue operations.
  • Build, recruit, coach and inspire an exceptional commercial team, establishing a culture of ambition, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and coordinate outstanding multidisciplinary pitch teams, bringing together commercial, strategic, creative and technical expertise to deliver compelling proposals and win major engagements.
  • Introduce new approaches, capabilities and best practices that materially improve our commercial effectiveness.
  • Establish scalable systems, processes and operating rhythms that support growth without unnecessary bureaucracy.

3. Marketing, Partnerships & Market Leadership

  • Own Swanky's marketing strategy, aligning brand development, demand generation and thought leadership with our commercial objectives.
  • Strengthen our positioning and reputation within the Shopify ecosystem and the broader enterprise commerce market.
  • Further develop our high-value strategic relationships with Shopify, technology partners, industry leaders and prospective clients.
  • Increase partner-sourced opportunities and build a more effective, diversified pipeline across inbound, outbound, referrals and partnerships.
  • Identify new market opportunities, propositions and growth channels that strengthen our competitive position.

4. Executive Leadership & Strategic Growth

  • Contribute to the overall strategy and leadership of Swanky as a member of the Executive Board.
  • Work closely with the CEO, Chair and investors to deliver the business plan and create long-term shareholder value.
  • Collaborate with our operational and delivery leadership teams to ensure commercial commitments translate into successful, profitable client relationships.
  • Support future growth initiatives, including the commercial integration of potential acquisitions and the development of new service capabilities.
  • Build a commercial organisation capable of supporting Swanky's ambitions through the current investment period and beyond.

What Success Looks Like

You'll ultimately be measured by the quality and value of the business Swanky wins.

Key measures will include:

  • Achievement of ambitious new business sales targets, including new client wins and account expansion.
  • Increased average deal value, improved win rates and stronger commercial outcomes.
  • Growth in high-quality pipeline, with greater predictability and diversification of opportunity sources.
  • Increased contribution from strategic partnerships and marketing-led demand generation.
  • Development of a high-performing commercial team with the capability to consistently win complex, high-value engagements.
  • The creation of a scalable and sustainable commercial engine capable of supporting Swanky's longer-term ambitions.

About You

Above all, you know how to win business, and you have the track record to prove it.

You'll likely bring:

  • An outstanding commercial track record.
You've personally won significant, complex client engagements and built or led teams that consistently outperform.
  • Proven leadership capability.
You know how to attract exceptional commercial talent, build a winning culture and get the best out of the people around you.
  • Experience driving transformational growth.
You've helped take a business through a meaningful period of commercial expansion and understand what needs to change as organisations scale.
  • Strategic and operational excellence.
You're comfortable developing ambitious growth plans, but equally capable of translating them into practical action and measurable results.
  • Deep understanding of consultative selling.
You know how to sell complex technology, consulting or professional services propositions, where credibility, relationships, commercial judgement and delivery confidence really matter.
  • Entrepreneurial energy and ownership.
You bring new ideas, fresh perspectives, valuable relationships and the determination to make things happen.
  • Executive presence and sound judgement.
You're a compelling communicator, a confident negotiator and a collaborative leader, comfortable operating with senior clients, colleagues and Board members.

Experience within the Shopify, Adobe, Salesforce, commerce, CX or digital transformation ecosystems would be particularly attractive. Experience scaling a technology services, consultancy or digital agency business would also be highly relevant. Prior experience working with Private Equity would be advantageous but is not a requirement.

You'll be ambitious, commercially driven and excited by the prospect of helping build something exceptional.

The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a successful, ambitious and fast-growing business.

You'll join Swanky at a pivotal stage, with the backing of an established private equity investor, a strong market position and significant potential for growth.

We're looking for somebody who wants to take real ownership, make a lasting impact and play a central role in building the next chapter of Swanky.
