Shopify Developer (Liquid, JS, Functions & Custom Apps)

Overview

Join our team as a Remote Full-Time Shopify Developer at Varikode Technology! In this role, you'll be at the forefront of building high-converting, pixel-perfect Shopify stores using Liquid, JavaScript, and CSS — along with custom Shopify functionality that goes beyond standard theme development. Your expertise will drive the development of scalable, fast, and visually polished storefronts, contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional ecommerce experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to work remotely with a passionate team building beautiful, high-performing websites for clients worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Convert Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive Shopify storefronts
  • Build custom Shopify functionality — sections, blocks, and dynamic front-end features
  • Develop Shopify Functions and custom Shopify apps to extend store capabilities beyond standard features
  • Build custom checkout extensions and UI extensions where needed
  • Work with Shopify APIs and third-party app integrations
  • Debug, optimize, and maintain existing Shopify stores for speed and performance
  • Write clean, well-structured, high-performance front-end code
  • Communicate directly with clients and the team to understand requirements and provide updates
  • Occasionally support WordPress website development and customization (a smaller part of the role)

Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Shopify Liquid templating
  • Solid JavaScript, HTML, and CSS skills for front-end development
  • Experience converting design files (Figma) into responsive, pixel-perfect layouts
  • Familiarity with Shopify's theme architecture, sections, and app integrations
  • Experience building or working with Shopify Functions and custom Shopify apps
  • Basic working knowledge of WordPress (not the primary focus, but a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to write clean, maintainable code
  • Good communication skills — able to clearly explain technical work and collaborate with the team and clients
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Shopify Hydrogen (headless commerce) or Shopify Plus
  • Familiarity with performance optimization and Core Web Vitals
  • Basic understanding of SEO best practices for ecommerce sites

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
