Sales Development Internship: You'll Learn More Than You Expected, Remote Job

Highlights

🔑 Work Directly with Our Founders & Sales Team

🕘 6-Month to 1-Year Internship

🕘 Part-time: 25 hours per week

🚀 Real Pipeline Responsibility from Day One

🗺 Anywhere (must overlap US time zones 4–5 hours daily)

💰 USD $500 Monthly Stipend (potential hiring opportunity for full-time)

We need someone who loves the grind, not despite it, but because of it.

Calling prospects, organizing the pipeline, following up for the fourth time, logging it all in the CRM, and doing it again tomorrow. That's the job. And we need someone who reads that sentence and thinks, yes, that's exactly what I want to get good at.

You'll work directly with our head of sales and the sales team on outbound calls, LinkedIn outreach, pipeline management, and prospecting. It's repetitive by design. The best salespeople in the world became great because they showed up to the same process every single day and got 1% better each time.

That's the opportunity here.

Here's what makes this different from any sales role you've done before. We send around 2,000 cold emails a month. That generates about 100 positive replies. Those replies turn into 50 booked calls. Every month. For a storytelling and marketing service that ranges from $50K to $500K per engagement. If you've done sales before, you know how rare that pipeline efficiency is. It doesn't happen by accident. It happens because the SEO, thought leadership, PR, and keynote work runs ahead of every outreach. Prospects already know who we are before anyone picks up the phone. You're not warming up cold leads from scratch. The content already did that. Your job is to convert conversations that are already halfway there. We're also an AI-forward team. We test new tools, learn in public, and share what works across the whole team. If you've worked somewhere that moves slow and figures things out in silence, this will feel like a different sport.

Why You'll Love It Here

First, we're a fun-loving, dynamic bunch, always ready to tackle new challenges. Join us, and you'll never experience a dull moment.

Do you get a rush from a clean pipeline at the end of the day? Perfect, so do we.

Not a fan of cubicles and offices? Cool, neither are we. We've been working in the remote scene for a while now. Work when you're feeling sharp.

Enjoy being part of a worldwide team. Our team works from Bangladesh, Canada, Germany, Chile, Kenya, Brazil, Pakistan, Romania, USA, Colombia, and Argentina.

No formal sales experience? No sweat. We care more about your drive to learn and your love for the process than your resume.

You'll fit right in if you're the kind of person who follows up one more time when everyone else has given up.

Just a heads-up: I might have looked like a terrified squirrel the first time I went skydiving. But hey, I just did it. So if you don't mind joining a team headed by a brave squirrel, come on in.

Check out my squirrel face right here.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

This isn't a shadow-the-team role. You'll be inside the pipeline, supporting our head of sales and account executives with the real work of building and moving deals forward.

  • Cold outreach via email, LinkedIn, and phone calls

  • Managing and updating CRM records so nothing falls through the cracks

  • Booking qualified meetings and following up relentlessly until you get a response

  • Researching and building prospect lists using tools like Clay and LinkedIn

  • Supporting active sequences and making sure no leads go cold by accident

  • Sitting in on sales calls to learn how we handle objections and close

You won't be making decks or writing blog posts. You'll be learning the craft of sales by doing it.

Where You Could Go From Here

Your first job is to learn the process and earn trust. After that, where you grow depends on where you shine. We have four paths, and the right candidate will naturally drift toward one of them.

📞 Sales Execution
If you're strong on calls and follow-ups and smart enough to personalize your outreach, you'll start supporting deal nurturing, helping manage the board and keeping active deals warm between touchpoints. The best closers on our team started exactly here.

📋 Sales Call Prep
If you're detail-oriented and love research, you'll help prep our sales team before every call, building prospect profiles, surfacing the right intel, and making sure we walk into every conversation already knowing what matters to the buyer.

🎯 Visitor Intelligence
If you're analytical and enjoy connecting signals to action, you'll work inside our visitor de-anonymization workflow, qualifying inbound intent signals and turning them into outreach. High volume, high impact, and a skill set very few people in the market have yet.

💼 LinkedIn Support
If you're strong on the platform and understand tone and audience, you'll support Peter's LinkedIn presence by handling DMs, managing outreach from secondary accounts, and writing posts alongside our content team.

You don't get to pick your track on day one. You earn it.

You'll Thrive Here If...

You genuinely like talking to people. Not in a "I can tolerate it" way, you actually find outreach interesting and get a little energized when someone responds.

You get satisfaction from a clean pipeline. Logging a call, moving a prospect forward, booking a meeting, that stuff doesn't feel like admin to you. It feels like progress.

You follow up three times before deciding a lead is dead. You keep a system. You don't rely on memory. Your CRM, your prospect list, your task queue, all of it is current and navigable by someone else at any moment. You're comfortable being told no. A lot. And you don't take it personally, you move on and dial the next one.

If the daily rhythm of outreach, follow-up, and pipeline management sounds exhausting, this isn't the right fit. If it sounds like exactly the kind of work you want to get really good at, keep reading…

Your Skills

  • Obsessively organized: 50+ active prospects, zero falling through the cracks. You have a system, and you protect it.

  • Process-driven by nature: daily call blocks, follow-up sequences, CRM updates are your comfort zone, not your burden.

  • Detail-oriented to a fault: wrong name in an email, missed follow-up, stale CRM record: these things bother you before anyone else notices.

  • C1 English level: clean, professional writing that doesn't sound robotic.

  • Comfortable on the phone, or fully committed to getting there fast.

  • Any CRM experience: Salesforce, GoHighLevel, doesn't matter.

  • Familiarity with LinkedIn outreach, or the discipline to learn it properly.

  • Bonus: Clay, Apollo, Instantly, or similar prospecting tools.

  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, we won't be holding your hand every step of the way.

  • Team player: your organized pipeline makes everyone else's job easier.

This is your chance to take the reins, get creative, and figure it out. It's not always a walk in the park, but you'll gain a ton of experience, and it will be worth it. We promise.

They Started Where You Are! Watch What Our Previous Interns Say About The Internship:

Almost everyone on our team started as an intern. That's not a talking point, it's the entire model. I literally wrote the playbook on it (coming soon):

Interns to A-Players: A Playbook for Remote Bosses.

From the team - right now:

Julian - Sales Intern

"I came in with experience in sales, marketing, and copywriting, or at least, that's what I thought. Once I had the opportunity to experience the day-to-day work of the professionals at this company, I quickly realized how much I still had to learn. They have built a system that is not only highly effective at generating results, but also at helping the people within the company continuously grow and develop, while maintaining the highest standards in everything they do."

Sol - Sales Intern

"Working as an intern at Strategic Pete has been one of the most fulfilling professional experiences I've ever had. Every day brings a new challenge and a new opportunity to learn. Strategic Pete is not a random company. If you genuinely want to learn how to take an idea, create a project, and bring it to life; if you enjoy sharing your thoughts while also being open to feedback; and if you are looking for a place where you can challenge yourself and grow, this is definitely a place where you can do that."

Where it takes you:

Maria was managing client projects and our entire internal team by month one. Full-time by month three. Her words:

“Everyone put trust in me to lead effectively, that's what empowered me to take the position.”

Laura came in just wanting flexibility and practical skills. She left with a completely different way of thinking about strategy.

“I got both of those things, and more.”

Cami, our current SEO lead, knew nothing about SEO when she started. She now owns content for three clients across multiple brands.

“You had confidence in me even in times when I didn't.”

About Strategic Pete

Strategic Pete is a marketing and growth agency. But we've always worked a little differently.

Our founder came up through CNN, hosted television shows in Chile, and built an award-winning seven-season series that streams on Hulu, Apple TV, Amazon, and Roku, with over 40 million social views. The approach to everything here: "Human. Not Hollywood."

That same lens runs through how we help clients. We work with mid-market B2B businesses to build real pipelines through outbound systems, content that resonates, and marketing strategy tied to revenue. Not fluff. Not brand decks that collect dust. Real, measurable growth.

We'll start you off with a $500 monthly stipend. Show us what you've got in 6 months, and you could land a full-time role. Working closely with managers and specialists in different areas of marketing, you'll learn a lot.

We've helped 100+ interns grow in their careers. You must be ready for a 6-month commitment and be willing to put in at least 25 hours per week.

How to Apply

Before you send anything, watch one episode of the Strategic Pete podcast. Pick whichever one calls to you:

  • Stop the Sales Gimmicks! Build Genuine Relationships That Actually Drive Business

  • The Workforce Shortage Is a Story Problem, Not a Labor Problem

  • Why Hiring a Marketing Agency Won't Fix Your Sales

This isn't busywork. It's 20-40 minutes that'll tell you more about how we operate than any job description could. If you watch it and think this is my kind of team, then send us a Loom (free tool, just Google it) telling us:

  • Who you are. Tell me a bit about yourself and why you think you are the next A+ teammate for our remote crew.

  • Pick one thing from the episode you disagreed with or would push back on,  and tell us why.

  • Tell us one moment from the episode that connected to something in your own life or work, and be specific.

  • Why the sales process genuinely excites you.
