Part-Time Bookkeeper (Contract, Remote, Texas), QuickBooks Online

This is a part-time, remote, independent contractor (1099) role for someone who already knows QuickBooks Online inside and out. You'll work directly with our Director of Operations and Finance to handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end cleanup. Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis, working remotely from Texas. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage financial records, ensure accurate bookkeeping, and support our accounting functions using QuickBooks Online. Duties

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using QuickBooks Online.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable processing, and general ledger maintenance to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Process payroll and handle payroll-related tasks such as tax filings and employee payments.
  • Reconcile accounts such as bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts regularly.
  • Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and account analysis to support organizational decision-making.
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards and governmental regulations related to nonprofit or corporate accounting.

Must Have Requirements

  • Required: 3 or more years of bookkeeping experience using QuickBooks Online. You should be able to start working in QBO right away without training.
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting, job/project costing, and bank reconciliations
  • Demonstrated understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Experience with payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, customer invoicing and bank reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental or nonprofit accounting practices highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), 10-key typing skills, and financial report writing.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform account analysis accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a remote setting.

Nice to have Requirements

  • QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification
  • Experience with IT services, MSP, MSSP or technology resale companies
  • Texas sales and use tax experience
  • Experience with distributor billing (for example, TD SYNNEX or Ingram Micro)
