Head of Data & Analytics — Insurance & Investments

<strong>Job Summary<br><br></strong>The Head of Data & Analytics leads the organization's enterprise data, analytics, and business intelligence function, turning complex data into actionable insights for strategic, operational, financial, risk, customer, and investment decisions.<br><br>Within Insurance & Investments, the role typically covers analytics across underwriting, claims, pricing, customer behavior, fraud, risk, portfolio/investment performance, financial planning, regulatory reporting, and enterprise performance.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br>Develop and execute the enterprise Data & Analytics strategy and roadmap.<br><br>Lead data governance, data management, data quality, and data stewardship.<br><br>Establish enterprise-wide analytics standards, frameworks, and KPIs.<br><br>Lead Business Intelligence (BI), advanced analytics, predictive analytics, and data science.<br><br>Develop dashboards, management reporting, executive insights, and decision-support tools.<br><br>Support insurance analytics covering:<br><br>Underwriting<br><br>Claims<br><br>Pricing<br><br>Customer analytics<br><br>Fraud detection<br><br>Loss/risk analysis<br><br>Support investment and asset-management analytics covering:<br><br>Portfolio performance<br><br>Investment risk<br><br>Market data<br><br>Asset allocation<br><br>Performance attribution<br><br>Client/investor analytics<br><br>Build and maintain data warehouses, data lakes, analytical platforms, and data pipelines.<br><br>Drive data integration across policy administration, claims, CRM, finance, investment, risk, and other enterprise systems.<br><br>Implement predictive models, AI/ML, and automation where appropriate.<br><br>Ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, availability, lineage, and accessibility.<br><br>Partner with IT/Data Engineering on cloud, architecture, APIs, platforms, and modernization.<br><br>Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, regulatory, and financial-services requirements.<br><br>Provide reliable data for financial, risk, actuarial, management, and regulatory reporting.<br><br>Lead data transformation and the adoption of self-service analytics.<br><br>Manage analytics/data teams, technology partners, vendors, budgets, and delivery priorities.<br><br>Present data-driven insights and recommendations to senior executives and business leaders.<br><br>Promote a strong data-driven decision-making culture across the organization.<br><br>Ideal Candidate Profile<br><br>12–18+ years of experience in data, analytics, BI, data science, information management, or technology.<br><br>5+ years in senior data/analytics leadership.<br><br>Experience as:<br><br>Head of Data & Analytics<br><br>Head of Analytics<br><br>Head of Data<br><br>Director of Data & Analytics<br><br>Director of Analytics<br><br>Data & Analytics Director<br><br>Chief Data Officer<br><br>Chief Analytics Officer<br><br>Strong background in Insurance, Investment Management, Asset Management, Wealth Management, Banking, or Financial Services.<br><br>Strong expertise in:<br><br>Data strategy<br><br>Data governance<br><br>Data architecture<br><br>Data management<br><br>Data quality<br><br>BI and reporting<br><br>Advanced/predictive analytics<br><br>Data science<br><br>AI/ML<br><br>Data platforms<br><br>Data integration<br><br>Data visualization<br><br>Experience leading enterprise-wide transformation and multidisciplinary teams.<br><br>Strong understanding of financial-services data, risk, regulatory, and reporting requirements.<br><br>Ability to work with C-suite executives, Finance, Risk, Actuarial, Investments, Operations, IT, and business leadership.
