Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Apprentice to join our dynamic electrical services team. This paid apprenticeship position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to develop foundational skills in electrical systems installation, maintenance, and repair across commercial and industrial settings. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of licensed electricians to gain hands-on experience, adhere to safety protocols, and expand their knowledge of electrical codes and systems. This role is essential in supporting the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of complex electrical infrastructure while fostering professional growth in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist licensed electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial and industrial facilities.

Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to support accurate wiring and system setup.

Use hand tools, power tools, conduit benders, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment to perform tasks safely and efficiently.

Participate in conduit bending, electrical wiring, and the installation of low voltage systems according to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and NFPA 70 compliance requirements.

Support the installation of electrical systems including lighting, outlets, panels, switches, and control devices.

Follow established electrical safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

Assist with troubleshooting electrical issues by testing circuits with voltmeters and ohmmeters to identify faults or system failures.

Maintain a clean work area and ensure all tools and materials are properly stored after use.

Collaborate with team members on construction sites to meet project deadlines while adhering to safety protocols.

Contribute to the documentation of work performed by updating logs, sketches, or reports as required for project records.

Experience

Prior experience or exposure to electrical work in construction or industrial environments is preferred but not mandatory; relevant hands-on training or coursework is advantageous.

Familiarity with reading electrical blueprints and schematics enhances understanding of complex systems.

Knowledge of electrical safety procedures, NEC standards, NFPA 70 compliance guidelines, and general construction site safety is highly desirable.

Experience using hand tools such as wire strippers, screwdrivers, pliers, as well as power tools including drills and saws.

Basic understanding of low voltage systems and electrical wiring techniques applicable to commercial projects.

Previous exposure to conduit bending techniques and installation of electrical components on construction sites will be beneficial.

A strong commitment to safety protocol adherence combined with eagerness to learn will support success in this apprenticeship role.

Pay: $25.33 - $30.51 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
