About Persona

Persona is the configurable identity platform built for businesses in a digital-first world. Verifying individuals and organizations is harder — but more important — than ever, with AI enabling fraudsters to launch sophisticated accounts at scale and regulations evolving rapidly.

We’ve built Persona to support practically every use case and industry — that’s why we’re able to serve a wide range of leading companies. For example, Reddit relies on Persona for age assurance and verification to comply with online safety regulations, protecting younger users while maintaining a seamless experience. Meanwhile, OpenAI relies on Persona to keep bad actors out, protecting one of the world’s most powerful AI platforms from large-scale abuse in a time when AI is reshaping the way we work and live.

We’re growing rapidly and looking for exceptional people to join us!

About the role

As the Brand Writer at Persona, you will sit within the Brand Design Studio, our in-house design shop that helps craft our brand narratives, campaigns and activations across all aspects of Persona, from our GTM initiatives and events, to our internal people brand and employee programs.

Our subject matter is genuinely complicated: compliance, fraud, security and systems that most people never see. As we enter the next chapter of our brand, we want to add to the rich and detailed ways we currently discuss our products to include narratives around the world of identity and why that matters for everyone, from consumers to businesses, governing agencies to researchers, and candidates to employees.

This role will work cross functionally help shape Persona’s brand-level communications across everything from the website, videos, and campaign work to recruiting and internal comms. As Persona’s first Brand Writer, you won’t inherit a playbook—you’ll help create it, defining the standard through the work itself. With a rebrand just underway, it’s a great opportunity to make a real impact.

What you'll do at Persona
  • Be an active partner in developing our story across a wide range of surfaces, from concept to execution across websites and campaigns, product and feature launches, event materials, OOH initiatives, video and social channels and internal storytelling communications.

  • Work with brand designers, content marketing and our partners across the company from the start of a brief, helping shape the ideas and concepts, not just adding the copy and moving on to the the next project

  • Translate technically dense subjects (identity, fraud, compliance, security) into engaging brand narratives non-experts can understand

  • Collaborate with our GTM teams to further craft & curate the nuance of Persona's brand voice across audiences — customers, end-users, developers, candidates, and employees, while finding the key threads that help bring it all under one roof.

  • Help evolve our voice and tone as you go: creating practical learnings and guidelines that can empower other teams, developed through shipped work rather than in a vacuum.

  • Raise the quality of writing coming from partners across the company, giving direct feedback and jumping in to help make impact when you see the opportunity

  • Find the opportunities not assigned — the moments, the formats, the piece of writing that should exist and doesn't yet.

  • Help build a culture of feedback and collaboration among designers, cross-functional partners, and executive stakeholders

What you'll bring to Persona
  • 6+ years experience with portfolio that carries the role, and shows how things evolved from the brief to the concept to the final, sometimes even unexpected piece.

  • The clarity to write with personality and perspective about serious things, pushing the ideas and messaging beyond the brief, but never at the expense of credibility

  • Experience writing across a range of mediums and audiences, with examples showing how the same voice bent to fit a different channel and still held.

  • Experience helping a brand voice take shape rather than inheriting a finished one.

  • The ability to self-direct projects across multiple work streams in a fast-moving environment, with the communication skills to keep cross-functional and executive stakeholders aligned

  • A cross-functional and collaborative approach, working in the room with our design team as well as cross functionally with our content and marketing teams, PMM and Ops partners, ideating out loud, riffing, and willing to push to make the writing the best it can be.

  • A real curiosity around how things work: the problems we solve for our customers, the tensions inherent in that and how we communicate these ideas

Nice to haves
  • Both agency and in-house experience is a large plus

  • Experience writing for regulated, trust-sensitive, or safety-adjacent subjects.

  • Employer brand, recruiting, or internal communications experience/work
