Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to join our dynamic property management team. In this vital role, you will support the overall operations of residential or commercial properties, ensuring exceptional tenant experiences, efficient administrative processes, and compliance with all relevant regulations. Duties

  • Assist in managing daily property operations, including lease or rental agreement management and tenant relations
  • Support rent collection, payment processing, and budgeting activities using property management tools such as Appfolio and OneSite
  • Coordinate property maintenance requests and facilities management to ensure properties are well-maintained and compliant with safety standards
  • Handle client communication with professionalism, addressing inquiries via phone, email, or in person with excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Maintain accurate filing systems, legal administrative records, and contracts while ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations and LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) requirements
  • Support conflict management efforts by mediating tenant disputes and resolving issues efficiently
  • Assist in preparing reports on property performance, occupancy rates, and lease statuses for management review

Experience

  • Proven property management or real estate administrative experience, ideally within a property management company setting
  • Familiarity with property management software such as Yardi, Appfolio, OneSite, or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 housing programs, and LIHTC compliance
  • Experience with leasing processes, contract negotiation, and upselling rental units or services
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication purposes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict effectively while maintaining positive client relationships
  • Office experience supporting property leasing activities, budgeting, filing systems, and customer relationship management
